Five Take: Pastels

There was an unexpected break with Five Take last week – no one, apart from whoever picked it, had the item for the challenge and we all collectively decided not to do a post! However, we are back with avengeance this week (with perhaps even the West Coast turned Midwest babe, Nicole – we shall see!) with pastels!

I am not a pastel girl – at least I don’t think I am! I’m not into the sugary almond colours which are massive this season, so I was initially a bit stumped for this challenge. That is until I remembered about this dress lurking unworn in my wardrobe!

Dress – Yours Clothing

Yes, yes your eyes do not deceive you, it does have birds on it! I bought the dress back at the beginning of March when my bird print obsession was at its hight (some may say worst!). I’ve given myself a good talking to and I have wound down about being bird mad. I now only buy items which I like AND have birds on rather than buying stuff purely for the sake of it being bird print. Luckily, I still love this dress. Its kinda similar to the gorgeous Dorothy Perkins one which also had a mint version (I think!).

The only thing I would say that I don’t like about it is the neckline – I think I’m going to have to put a stitch in it to make it sit right. Perhaps I should have gone for a size down. Just something those of you less blessed in the chest department might need to be aware of if you decide to buy the dress.

Personally, this spearmint colour is about as far as I will go with pastels. I have mint jeans and now this dress and for me that is enough.

So – pastels; yay or nay for you lot?

As always, don’t forget to check out what the others are wearing:
