Firstly - HAPPY NEW YEAR! Hello 2013! I hope you all had a great festive break and are feeling refreshed and ready for the year ahead!
One of my presents from the husband was a domain for my little blog – so you may notice I am now a “.co.uk” – very exciting! So now I have my domain, I have been thinking about further challenges to make sure I carry on blogging – and most importantly - enjoying it! One of the ideas I came up with was using Pinterest as a way of using existing clothes in my wardrobe – so gaining inspiration (or pinspiration – geddit?!) from the pretty pretty pictures. So I’ve added a new category of “pinspiration” so you’ll know when the outfit isn’t entirely my idea! Also its my way of showing how I – as a fatty – can wear an outfit someone half (or even less) of my size would wear.
So I decided to take SJP as my first inspiration outfit – as she is clearly about 10 times smaller than I am! I went for this outfit:
A pretty simply one I know! Here’s my version of it:
Jacket – ASOS curve via eBay
Jeans – New Look
Shoes – c/o Evans
Scarf – gift from Yours Clothing in 2011 Plus London goody bag
Brooch – Christmas gift from my mum
This outfit contains two holy grail items for me – skinny black jeans and a well fitted black blazer. I love black blazers but not on me for some reason. I always feel like I’m going for a job interview. I tried the loose boyfriend one from ASOS – seen here in blush - and even though I love how it looks in the blush, the black one looked wrong! So I sold it to Gina. I then saw this one on eBay for £22 and decided it was worth a shot – I could always re-sell it. However, it works. It looks good with jeans, over dresses and with skirts! Perfect!
The black jeans are also a really good fit. I have quite slim legs in comparison to my body so finding jeans to fit the girth of the belly and still be skinny on the legs has proved a difficult task. I have returned a fair few pairs of jeans trying to get it just right. However these cheapo ones from New Look fit the bill perfectly. Super skinny on the legs and stretchy enough that they will do up over my stomach. The VBO is pretty horrific but a long top always makes me feel better!
What are your holy grail items?
