Once upon a time in a land not so far a way, there lived a girl who’s nickname was Monkey.

Now Monkey lived in the land of Fat, in which the inhabitants were limited in what they could wear. Most clothes – and shoes – did not fit the Fatties and they only had a very small selection to choose from. Monkey had spent many years searching for a pair of winter boots – ones that would keep her warm in the depths of winter, keep her dry, were comfortable to wear and would fit over tights AND trousers. Most of all they needed to look fashionable. Her search had led her to many interesting lands, but each time her quest was foiled and her hopes dashed.

One day, the good fairy Evans bestowed on Monkey three pairs of boots she promised would be the ones Monkey was looking for! Monkey was gleeful in the fact she had three pairs of boots to help her through the colder months! Monkey put on her finest outfit and selected her favourite pair of the three. These boots were just her style, with chunky soles, buckles, zips! The perfect biker boot!

Alas – the promised boots would not do up past Monkey’s large ankles! This was despite the fairy’s promise that the boots were designed for her generous ankles and calves!

Disappointed but not too disheartened, Monkey picked up the next pair of boots.

Knee high boots – c/o Evans

These were less Monkey’s style, but they had a fabulously good sole and were plain enough she could wear them with anything! Now, these boots fitted over her ankle and part way up her calf but Monkey was unable to do the boots all the way up without her husband’s help! Which would never do – as her husband was unlikely to always be in when she wanted to wear them!

Monkey now felt dejected, once again those promised boots were falling by the way side. She felt she was cursed to have cold wet feet for the rest of her days. She turned – reluctantly- to the third and final pair of boots and put her feet into them, took a deep breath and started to zip the boots up….

AND THEY FIT!!!

Monkey wore the boots all day – to walk around in woodland near her home and the boots were comfortable! They kept her feet dry as she jumped in puddles, they didn’t rub or fall down or give her blisters. They were simply the best pair of boots Monkey had ever had! Even better, she could zip them up without help AND wear them over jeans.

So Monkey lived happily ever after – with her boots.
