A Very Equestrian Outfit

Oh! Hello there! Its been a while hasn’t it?! I’ve been pretty sick – I’ve had a nasty infection which took me a while to knock on its head, but I’m feeling better and am eager to get back to blogging!

I have LOTS of outfits to blog – and a few bits that have been sent to me to review – so I will be making sure I am back with a vengeance!

To start off – a horsey themed outfit! I have never been someone who is interested in horses. I didn’t have an urge to ride as a child and although I have ridden a horse, I would never say I am interested in it. Yet, I love the whole equestrian style – skinny jeans, knee high boots, fitted blazer. Unfortunately, its been near on impossible to get all of these items to fit me. Fat girls – it would appear – are not allowed to wear such outfits! Until this year that is…

Blazer – c/o Very.co.uk

Blouse – Evans (old!)

Jeans – c/o Very.co.uk

Boots – c/o Evans (to be reviewed in another post)

Very.co.uk is one of those places I always forget to check out, but it has some brilliant hidden jems! So when the lovely people at Very.co.uk contacted me and asked me if I wanted to pick three items from their plus size collections, I jumped at the chance and when I saw the tweed jacket I snapped it up!

The fit is great, I went for my normal size – 26 – and it is perfect. It goes with nearly all of my wardrobe and will be worn to death! The jeans were also a must! I love the print and its rare to find something so funky in plus size items. The fit of the jeans is good – I did have them shortened by my friend Michelle but we all know I have super short legs!

Overall it was a great outfit to wear for a picnic in the woods on a beautiful early autumnal Saturday.

How about you, are there any looks you love but have never been able to pull off due to limitations available in plus size items? Or like me, have you suddenly managed to achieve your dream look?

  1. Very cute!

And ooh, I think I just bought those boots from Evans—are they the completely flat biker-style boots with a full zip on one side a half-zip on the other to accommodate larger calves? If so, mine came yesterday and I can’t decide whether to keep them or not. They fit… but the half-zip looks very very weird.

  5. So so good to see you back! Love the jacket! I’m such a sucker for jackets! You look perfectly autumnal! blimey that’s a lot of exclamation marks eh?! I think the limitations to the plus market have diminished of late, there’s often trendy styles out there the trick is now being quick and decisive enough to snap them up before they sell out! We are getting there, a year ago print jeans were not in fashion but they are this season and this is the second plus pair I have seen in a week (new look have spot ones) normally we would get them 12 months later when they are old news!

  6. Gaaa… those pants are fantastic!! Need them!

The biggest look I have always wanted to pull off is a blouse tucked in with jeans and boots and a large buckle belt. I know I can do it now but I never like the way it looks. :(

  7. Welcome back. Glad you’re feeling better. Love those boots will definitely giving them a second look.

  8. This outfit is SUPERB, and despite not wearing jeans for about five years I’ve just ordered the horse print ones as they look so brilliant!
