As I mentioned in my last post, the Husband and I headed off to a concert on Easter Monday at the Barbican. I always forget what an amazing venue the Barbican is, I love that an Arts venue is built in a housing estate. We went to see a collaboration between Sufjan Stevens, Bryce Dessner and Nico Muhly and it was fantastic! It was part of the Husband’s Christmas present from me and I think he liked it the best.
It was one of those concerts that was very trendy – lots of Hoxtonites were there (you know, floral dresses, top knots for girls, beards and coloured jeans for boys, both in loafers), so I attempted to blend in! I wore this:
Dress – Simply Be
Jacket and leggings – Evans
Scarf and brogues – Simply Be
I picked the dress up from Simply Be a couple of weeks ago. In fact I bought it after seeing a girl wearing one very similar (I have now found out it was the grey one like this from Topshop) and I loved how she had paired it with leggings, brogues and a leather jacket. So when I was deciding what to wear last night, I copied the whole look! I get a lot of inspiration through people watching.
The dress itself is lovely, albeit on the thin side for the cost. But it will be lightweight enough to wear during the warmer months and you can layer it over a vest and leggings in the winter. I also fit in perfectly and saw at least six women in grey t-shirt dresses last night. So thank you Simply Be for providing on trend items for us fatties. It shows you care about your customers and not all of us want to hide in tents and baggy trousers.

It looks great! I love getting inspiration from people watching too
. Glad the show was fun!
I love getting style ideas from other people. It’s why I love reading blogs too.
This dress looks fab on you. I hadn’t even noticed on the Simply Be website – off to have a look now
And isn’t London a fab place to live?
London is the best!
This outfit looks great and without seeing how you have worn it I would have passed over the dress. Thank you for your inspiring outfits from a ‘long time lurker’!

Thanks Mel! It’s why I love blogs – I’ve bought lots of items after seeing them on bloggers.
