Gifted Blue Bird

Swallow cardigan – Dorothy Perkins

Vest – Joe Browns

Midi skirt – H&M

In reality, neither the skirt or the cardigan should fit me – they are both a size 22. I am a solid 24 (which means 26-28 in some Evans items!) but as there is no consistency with sizing whatsoever, this outfit fits me fine. The cardigan was a birthday gift from my friend Clair and I love it! Its quite thin – which is perfect for the tropical climate in my office and for layering.

The skirt is an item I’ve had in the wardrobe all summer and have never worn it because I couldn’t work out what to wear it with. However having seen Kendi in this outfit and Lili in this, I decided a darker top would work fine with the paleness of the skirt. The skirt has a number of layers, which helps give it fullness and substance. I still wouldn’t wear black knickers with it though!

    • Thanks Rebecca. I’ve really struggled with this skirt – its been in my eBay bag a number of times!! I think I’ve finally found a few ways to wear it now.

  1. The outfit looks fantastic on you! I love this combination. The floaty skirt especially. Which isn’t a surprise because I bought the hell out of the ASOS midi skirts last summer. Just glad they fit since they are technically a few sizes too small!

The navy and cream work great together. I think you could even style it with any color bright top – like red for the holiday season? And those super cute heart flats you have… or it might look really cute toughened up with some boots and other bad ass elements?

    • Ooh well remembered with the heart pumps – id forgotten about those! It’s a bit cold for flats at the mo – all biker boots etc! But I shall bare it in mind :-)
