All Dressed Up…

…and nowhere to go. Actually tonight I DID have somewhere to go! For ages now, I’ve been envious of those bloggers who get invited to the likes of Bertie, Matalan and so on mid-week blogging events. They go and met all of my blog crushes, have a few drinks, eat party food and more often than not come away with a goodie or two. So imagine my joy when yesterday Amy from Wolf Whistle invited me to a blogging event she was arranging.  It was at Westfield tonight (a place I have never been! Yes I am a Londoner – just a south east one!) and was for a couple of hours after work. I lay awake last night planning my outfit and I packed up my DSLR, proud that I no longer would have camera shame like I did at Plus London.

(me, feeling hard done by and broke!)

This morning I even applied make-up and threw my small and underused make-up bag into my handbag. Then disaster struck, whilst topping up my oyster card my debit card got rejected! I went to the nearest cash-point and urgggh the dreaded “week before payday” poverty has struck! Using my coin purse I managed to put enough money on my oyster to last me until I get paid next Thursday but my bank account says “no!” to anything else. So instead of mingling with the other fabulous bloggers,  I’m home concocting a random dinner from whatever is lurking in the fridge and the cupboards. G.U.T.T.E.D.

Anyway here is what I wore…

Midi skirt – Evans/Style369

T-shirt – Dorothy Perkins

Cardigan – New Look via eBay

Brogues  - New Look

Tights – Simply Be

I picked up the midi skirt from Evans during their 20% off everything deal they had on last week. I did buy the striped midi skirt from ASOS but I didn’t like the fact the lining was shorter than the skirt so returned it. This one from Evans is really nice, made from a soft jersey fabric and with an elasticated waist its really comfortable! I knew I wanted to wear it today but just wasn’t sure with what. So Lilli from Frocks and Frou Frou was my inspiration. Its kind of sea faring librarian chic!

As always, I’ve lusted over an item and now stuck with ideas of how to style it! Any suggestions?
