Dress up Monkey: Fox, Owl, Bow

Fox Jumper – Dorothy Perkins

Bow Skirt  - ASOS curve

Tights – Simply Be

Shoes – Evans

Necklace – Etsy

Today’s outfit was picked by both Rebecca from we are large, people and Val from Blog to be Alive. On paper this was an outfit I was really excited about it, but when I first put it on I wasn’t sure. However it definitely grew on me over the course of the day and now I really like it! Its a combination I will wear again.

I also finally got an owl necklace I have been seeing everywhere – I found it on Etsy for a couple of pounds and snapped it up very quickly (before Christmas people!). I have another one, which is in the give away I’m doing!

In a bid to help me with my no spend challenge I have signed up for Kendi’s 30 for 30 challenge beginning on 1 February. I will give myself an exception for the Blogger’s Meet on 5 February as I already have my outfit planned! I will also continue with Frocking Friday as I will throw a few dresses into my 30.

My willpower not to buy anything has been sorely tested with the arrival of these following items:

Ruby Rocks maxi dress from Style369 – its down to £10

This fabulous striped cardigan from Dorothy Perkins (combining two of my favourite things – strips and cardis!)

Peter Pan collar vest from Dorothy Perkins – I am obsessed with this neckline at the moment. I’m not even sure it suits me!

Owl shirt from Dorothy Perkins – it wont ever go around my chest and blouses don’t suit me – doesn’t stop me wanting it though!

Detachable Peter Pan collar – see told you I was obsessed – which would me an excellent investment because I could turn all my clothes into ones with Peter Pan collars!

Last but not in any way least my favourite item is…

This gorgeous Wednesday Addams esq dress from ASOS curve. I want it so much I could cry!

I’m hoping that as I have been a very kind, loving and supportive wife who didn’t really get a Christmas present, I can persuade my delightful husband to treat me at the end of the month to a couple of these… wish me luck!

  1. Yay! I’m glad the outfit combo worked! I just LOVE that fox sweater, I can never get enough of you wearing it. I think you look great!

I actually caved and bought that asos dress (umm, in both colors). I have a sickness.

  2. I LOVE THIS COMBI! Sorry, had to caps it! It is a wonderful one. I have the same skirt but had no luck styling it the way i want yet. I also tried the owl top from DP but it is kinda short on me and way expensive in the brick and mortar shop but if it goes on a good sale, i can be easily persuaded.

I was going to wish you good luck but looks like you don’t need it anymore since the hubby is going to get the dress for you!

  3. I am a really big fan of this outfit. The skirt is really cute on you! I love how you embrace fashion. I’m terrified of it!

  4. Of all the blogs I have visited so far on Katies list yours is by far the most interesting.
    Love you daring and inspiration.
    Un abrazo from Spain.

  5. Sorry for the late reply! It’s so annoying I always read blogs at night in bed on my iPad but it won’t let me comment! lol

Anywayyyyyy you really look lovely! I am so sad I never ordered that jumper, it’s really super original!

    • Ooh iPad… jealous there! At Christmas we were weighing up an iPad vs TV – we went for the TV. So I still want an iPad.

Thank you for picking the outfit – its amazing and I love it! Funny how you and Rebecca had similar taste.

  6. I think it’s a fab look – really chic. Totally in love with the Ruby Rocks dress and if you aren’t buying the owl shirt, can I? PLEASE? CAN I?!
