This post is my 100th!! I did plan to do a give away but I only have two bits to give and I want to get a few more before I do – otherwise it wont be much of a give-away! So I am now planning to do a give away for my 111th! Just because it’s a cool number!
So instead of a give away I am celebrating my 100th post by wearing an outfit that was picked for me by Elizabeth from the state i am in as part of my Dress Monkey challenge. Even though she makes me feel ancient (she’s 10 years younger than me!) Elizabeth and I have a fair bit of fashion style in common and I am really interested in her degree – sounds fascinating! If you want to know more go check out her blog (if you don’t do already!)
I bought this skirt in early November after seeing Amy from Wolf Whistle in this outfit and started lusting after a hitch skirt. This gorgeous black one from ASOS was the only one close I could find. It also comes in Khaki – but that colour tends to make me look unwell. I had never considered pairing it with the red cardigan but it looks cool! Although in hindsight I should have worn a black vest under the lace one – oh well! The skirt has a fairytale quality about it and I felt like I was in a fancy dress costume today – like a Gothic flower fairy (I’ve obviously have too much imagination!). I also love the grunge look of a pretty skirt and big biker boots – mixes my two worlds perfectly!
The hair also decided to behave today. Doesn’t look too bad considering I haven’t washed it since Monday morning and its been sprayed to death with dry shampoo! I am trying to take Messy Carla‘s advice and not wash it as much to retain the colour…

p.s- congrats on the 100th post!!
I think it is a stunning combination. I heart your red bow cardi to death! I really like this look, the cardi’s redness is making you look all happy and glowy!
Wow fast comment Merry!! Thank you! I normally shy away from red because I have a red skin tone but it doesn’t look to bad does it!
The cardigan is great. I love bows and red colors. I bought a lot of clothes with bow.
Thank you!!I wish I’d got it in blue too!
Love the cardi!!
I also love dry shampoo!!!
Thanks Jennie! When are you gonna start your food blog??!
I love it!! You look great.
I agree about wearing a black cami under the lace though, and maybe tucking in the lace top under the skirt? I still love you in the outfit though, you look so cute and spunky.
I did actually tuck it in. Just not in the pics. I’ll change the URL when I’m next on the PC (I’m on my phone now
)
Oh also, can you change my url on your blogroll, pretty please? Thanks grrl
I love it! You look fab darling.
Thanks!!
Love the cardi, it’s gorgeous! Anything red and with bows is always going to win in my book. I also love the skirt, hitch skirts make me think of holding up your skirts (with a plural, like when ladies wore lots of petticoats) and going running through the sea or fields or on the beach.
Btw, re: your peter pan dress rant on my blog – I struggle too as most of the dresses have unflatteringness on the boobage area, but that is why the detachable collars ROCK.
I’m pleased I’m not the only that struggles! I wonder if I could persuade someone to gift me a collar?!
